about 2 weeks ago i changed my keyboard config again and it worked very well.
i improved my pb on tinytech e.g. more than 0.5 seconds, as well as on many other tracks...

i've put the brake key on my ENTER/RETURN key (the big one), so i can use both, my left middle finger or left forefinger to do a more sensitive and quick braking..

i like the right CTRL becuase it lets my right thumb be of use... but i also use left CTRL becuase sometime the southpaw wants to play too Bleh

I play with keyboard ctrl, but i also often play with my Logitech Dual Action (PS2 Controller).
Sq. = Gas
X = Brake
O = Respawn
Tr. = Give Up (Del.)
Left Analogue Stick = Steer Analog
Right Analogue Stick = Gas Analog (dont use it)
D-Pad = Steer (not analog, don't use it)
L1 = Horn
R1 = none
L2 = View 2 (Close)
R2 = View 3 (Cockpit)
L3 = Stats (Online, on Keyboard press tab)
start = pause

Played all TM games with keyboard, never tried using a pad. My config might look a bit odd, but works for me and I can press 3 keys at same time to slide left and right.

I use
A -> gas
Z -> brake
Left -> left
Down -> right

I also use left shift to switch to cam 1 and Right cursor to change to cam 3 if the n00b trackmaker hasn`t done cam-change in their track, so I can change cam whenever it suits me. Hmm
